LAST WORD...A Poem by Sanni Kikelomo

A choir of screams gets trapped in my lungs

As his freezing hands clamps my mouth shut

The other hand slowly crawls up my throat

Then he squeezes

Pain surges up my throat

Burning it

Like fire is inside

I can’t breathe

He presses down harder

I’m dying

Blood trickles down my throat

And tears sting my eyes

Still clinging unto me, he let me speak

“I hate you”

More pain

Now I can’t speak any more
