ROEMICHS INT”L SCHOOLS HOSTS MINI OLYMPICS IN THE NORTH CENTRAL REGION OF NIGERIA.
The 4th Bi-Annual Inter-house Sports and
Athletics Competition of Roemichs International Schools held on Saturday, March
7, 2015 was a spectacular and colorful keenly contested affair.
Launching of five rockets by specially invited
dignitaries and lighting of the
Games Torch witnessed the start of the event at
11am.
The March Past by the four competing houses was full
of pomp, pageantry, and was indeed a brilliant display of synchronization of
colours and culture by the four houses.
Event Chairman, Hon. Barr. Usman Solagberu in his
opening speech encouraged parents and friends to contribute generously to
support the continued development of sports and athletics in the school.
All events were keenly contested. The
professionalism of organization of the event won wide admiration and acclaim; it
was described as a Mini Olympics.
Queen House emerged Overall winner of the
Championship, the first time in the history of the games. Trophy while Knight
House won the coveted trophy for the March Past.
Twelve invited schools competed for the
Inter-Schools Relays which were swept clean by Christ Eucharistic of Ilorin.
